Started in the heart of Indiana, NOAHLand, Inc. was borne out of a desire to finance the removal of invasive Asian honeysuckle plants from several acres of land close to West Lafayette, IN, home of Purdue University. Establishing a business name was easy enough as the goal was to rid the property of Asian honeysuckle, and NOAHLand (NO Asian Honeysuckle) was established in 2023. Determining what the business would actually do to raise money wasn’t as clear until owner and founder, Scott, purchased his first laser cutter a Comgrow Z1 10w Diode laser. Since then we have upgraded to a 100watt C02 laser that has much larger cutting capacity and capability. As is often the case with the myriad hobbies he invests his time in (woodworking, photography, mechanical repair, cybersecurity, flying, pool maintenance, and microelectronics to name just a few), it took some YouTube videos, design attempts, and practice rounds to get the hang of it, but it wasn’t long before the first sets of ornaments, coasters, and other Purdue-themed items were produced and perfected.
After successfully navigating Purdue’s licensing process to be able to sell officially licensed Purdue craft items, Scott reached out to a local gift shop owner (Gretel of Gretel’s in West Lafayette, IN) who took a chance on a local crafter startup and showcased NOAHLand designs in her store. As the NOAHLand design portfolio grew, reorders became larger and more frequent. If you are ever in West Lafayette, head over to Gretel's where you can find many items from this website. PurdueLaserCut.com represents the next step in expanding distribution to Purdue fans around the country.
A graduate of Purdue University, Scott has been part of the Lafayette and West Lafayette communities for over 30 years. He and his wife Kelly raised two daughters (also Boilermakers) and the family enjoys supporting the local community and Purdue sports teams all year long.
